Audit, risk, governance and strategic review
I bring senior governance and risk leadership developed across national security, central agencies and large, complex organisations. My experience spans enterprise risk, internal audit, assurance, governance, security, integrity, business continuity and major organisational reform. I have established and reformed corporate oversight and assurance functions, worked closely with Executive Boards and Audit and Risk Committees, and advised senior executives on risk, governance, organisational resilience and complex change.
A particular strength is my ability to quickly understand an organisation: its formal systems, its history, its people, its pressure points and the way decisions are actually being made. I bring independence, pragmatism and strong organisational judgement to help identify the issues that matter, connect risk to strategy and delivery, and bring clarity to complex or sensitive matters.
I am a non-Executive Director for the Cooper Rice Brading Foundation. I have just been appointed to the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee for the Museum of Australian Democracy and am open to other audit and risk and Board opportunities.
Most recently, as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Secretary at the Australian Bureau of Statistics, I held executive responsibility for enterprise risk, corporate governance, ICT, corporate services, cyber security, business continuity and major transformation programs. I worked closely with the Executive Board and Audit and Risk Committee on organisational performance, assurance, enterprise risk and preparations for major national programs. I can assist with:
